Domain IP Address history since first detections. Only IP changes recorded.

We currently find three domain name IP address search services on the internet: Namecheap, FreeDNS and NameRank. NameCheap is an online directory that shows you which domain name servers are used by other websites and which ones are owned by companies. Free DNS is a reverse lookup tool that displays information about DNS servers found on the internet and compares that information with information supplied by namecheap. NameRank is a top-notch web information database that gives detailed information about domain names, IP addresses and other relevant details. Although both FreeDNS and NameCheap have strong reputations, Name Rank has slightly better data and usability.

Resolving an IP address to a name domain can be extremely time consuming and labor intensive. In addition to spending countless man hours analyzing the different details of various name domain registrations, you also have to deal with the hassle of dealing with ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) and other entities involved in establishing and maintaining DNS resolution records. Finally, you have to deal with the issue of getting the DNS servers to list your new domain in their ressource section.

Fortunately, there's another option out there. It uses what's called a Shared DNS Resolver service. You use one of these services to point your domain name or subdomain to any DNS server on the internet, including ones in the larger world. This means that you don't have to worry about having to remember or enter a long series of numbers or letters. Instead, once you're connected to the internet, you just type in the IP address or domain name and proceed to your web browser.

What makes this option particularly attractive is its ability to simplify DNS resolution. The Shared DNS ressource is tied directly to the domain name system (DNS) that's set up for your business or organization. In essence, all you do is register your domain name and associate it with a DNS server. That way, when you go online and enter an IP address or domain name, it automatically gets routed to the right DNS server and your application is able to read it correctly.

If you've been using Shared DNS services, it probably has kept your network configuration limited due to the fact that there are a lot of other systems that try to use the IP address (as well as various other domain names) for their own purposes. That's because the Shared DNS is limited to the set of IP addresses that were initially provided by the root server. That's why the performance issues were visible in the first place: the DNS system was trying to process too many requests at once, hence the high CPU usage.

On the other hand, with IP-based names, you get to enjoy the advantages of a fully managed DNS server as well as a separate DNS zone. With a typical Shared DNS setup, you only have one zone that resolves to any IP address, which can make finding the relevant information much more difficult. With a separate DNS zone, you get a different zone that contains records for each domain name that belongs to a different network segment. Each domain name will have its own IP address, as well as a hostname, and it will be able to differentiate itself from any other domain name on the network. And since each domain name corresponds to a separate IP address, each zone can hold up to 100 domain names, all of which will be associated with a single IP address.

There is also the question of portability. If you use Shared DNS, you may not be too sure of how things will look with a different IP address or different DNS service. With a separate DNS service, you can configure and change DNS configurations whenever needed. You won't have to restart the shared server just to make a simple change in the DNS zone files.

But perhaps the most important advantage of IP-based name resolution is the level of privacy that you'll enjoy. When you use Shared DNS, anyone can trace your web history including who you surf online, where you visit, and when you do these things. This kind of information is not only unnecessary, but also potentially harmful to those who have access to it. IP dns resolves such details using hop by hop records, instead of the more traditional IP addresses. With this kind of technology, you get to enjoy much higher levels of security - you'll still be able to browse the internet privately while ensuring that your identity and location are protected at the same time. You'll always know that no one is snooping around on you, even if they have your IP address.
